Time passes in waves,
Softly sneaking by each second,
Unnoticed,
Until too much has changed,
Too much is lost.
The days brim with hardship,
Doubt flooding your mind,
Fear cutting through you like daggers,
Sadness weighing your heart like stone.
Yet joy still finds its way,
Laughter bubbling through your veins,
Your smile lighting up the night sky,
And in that moment,
No darkness can break through.
You look back on childhood days,
So innocent,
So pure,
And you realize
It’s different now,
And can never be the same.
Harsh winds pull you miles from home.
You try to recreate the memories,
But it’s too late.
They’re gone,
Swept away by the current of time.
Why can’t things stay the same?
Those years were the best you ever had.
Back then, you were too small for the darkness to notice.
It dared not approach the young,
The innocent.
But now it creeps in,
Casting shadows across your world.
If there’s one thing to learn,
It’s to never take your time for granted.
Because it can vanish,
Forever lost.
It’s our devastating truth:
Everything is growing harder,
Not older.
And now...
It’s too late.
