The luck you have,
To be able to forget,
The memories that are set for me
As I flow on,
Building up reminders of what made me,
You stay back,
Saying,”What a great life!”
As age takes its toll on me,
You’re still young and reckless,
Making similar mistakes as you’ve done before,
Because the bad is what is to be forgotten
What is in your brain now?
Every award, win, and celebration,
But the loss, heartbreak and grief,
Where did that go?
Graves are just stones to you,
Error is failure,
Such a mindset of forgetfulness,
Makes the weak seem powerful
You stay fixed,
In one spot for eternity
Others can understand you,
But at a certain point,
They view you as not their own
Although,
You never existed,
Just a replica of a wish,
I imagined would be flawless
I shall sit under a tree as old as me,
With my memories to keep me company,
As I am thankful,
I was not what I always hoped,
What a perfect person would be
