Faith

Keona Analeia

I've read about faith, about Noah, about Esther

Yet my faith I've struggled to see my future or God within.

I wrote this poem not sure what to write, not even sure what to think.

God has walked me through the luscious valleys and the mountain tops.

Through gardens and seasons I've prospered.

Hand in hand we've walked through deserts for weeks without water

Through scorching hot sand where I felt sinking sand beneath the soles of my feet.

Turmoil and joy, He's been with me through it all.

But sometimes the guilt tries to eat me alive,

but I cling to His robe; because I'll never be satisfied away from Him

Though in the past I failed to believe,

I put my faith in Him

And I've struggled to cling to it.

Some days I tug at His cloth, begging Him to bring me home

And each time I'm reminded He’s put me here for a reason: a reason I'm yet to fulfill.

He is my dad, my God in whom I trust. The darkest corners and moments in my life, hail in comparison to His shining light that shines hope through the hopeless nights.

Every day I'm reminded of His fatherly love, that prevails through thick and thin.

Though I've sinned he sits with me.

Though I failed Him He never fails me.

His love for me I'll never understand.

Yet I love that still.

I'll always love my heavenly father.

So my God, hold my hand and keep me upright.

Sing of your love for me through your word in those wordless nights.

I'll never forget you saved my life.

I'll cling to your robe, and stay within your precious sight.

I'll never leave even when the going gets tough,

Because you'll hold me tight, until my time is up.

I'll await your glory in patience,

And run the race set out for me.

For I can see your hand in every light

Lord my God,

Don't leave me, take care of me and hold me during stormy nights.

For I am your Child,

and You are my Dad.
