A Moment Within Time

I watch the sunlight spill across the floor,

Its golden fingers stretching soft and slow;

A whisper drifts from just beyond the door,

A fleeting warmth that only I can know.

The world may rush, its hours all collide,

Yet here I pause, suspended, calm, and free;

No ticking clock can pierce this gentle tide,

No roar of life can steal this reverie.

Within this pause, my heartbeat finds its song,

A quiet truth that dances through the air;

Though all outside may tumble, rush, or wrong,

This fragile instant blossoms unaware.

And when it fades, I carry it inside,

A world of calm no storm can override.
